The original picture was taken near Ambleside in the English Lake District. The barn stands beside a footpath, and has been modified over the years. This doorway was obviously blocked up by a skilled waller - much more pleasing to the eye than the adjacent doorway, which had been filled in with concrete blocks.
The original plan was to reduce the image to monochrome and then enhance the contrast, but having seen it on screen I liked the colours and textures of the original so I tried some other manipulations.
