I was going to call this set "Sunset in Tromsø" but then I remembered that both shots were taken just after midnight on successive days. Tromsø is well inside the Arctic Circle, and I was there in a period of excellent weather in summer 1998 so the sun never dropped below the horizon.
I take a lot of photos against the sun, which leads to some unusual and spectacular effects (and quite a few failures!). The pictures on this page will probably one day form part of a "tricks of the light" exhibition.
